Essex Community Fund
In 2003, a group of concerned Essex, NY, residents partnered with Adirondack Foundation to create a permanent endowment fund dedicated to serving the town of Essex and its residents. This affiliation assures donors the prudent and discrete management of Essex Community Funds.
Today, over $439,000 has been raised or pledged for Essex Community Fund (ECF) which strives to assist individuals, families, businesses and nonprofits with the preservation, maintenance, and enhancement of the natural ecology, environment, heritage, culture, and aesthetic qualities of the Town of Essex. There have been nearly $184,000 in grants made to support organizations responding to the needs of the Town of Essex.
Applications must be submitted through the Online Grants Manager.
The deadline to apply is May 27, 2016.
If your organization has received a grant from the ECF, we want to hear from you. As a requirement of your grant, we ask you to share the story of how this grant helped you accomplish your program goals. Grantee follow up reports should be submitted online. Please log on to your account through the Grants Manager to complete this report. When you get into the dashboard, scroll to the bottom of the page where you will see Grant Follow Ups Assigned. On the line that says ECF Grantee Report Form next to the name of your project, click the blue Edit link to complete the form. Be sure to save your work and hit submit when you are finished. Please include digital photos of your project/program that we can share.
Three other funds have been established to support needs in the Town of Essex: Colin Fink Historic Preservation Fund for historic preservation projects; Charlie Goff Memorial Fund; and the Essex Heating Project to facilitate resources for heating fuel for needy residents.
ECF has always been overseen by community volunteers. The advisory council changes over time and the volunteers ensure that every dollar is spent well and wisely. We thank the volunteers who help the fund grow.
