Skateboard park dreams become reality

Eleven years of planning and fundraising finally paid off in July 2015 with the grand opening of the Saranac Lake Skateboard Park.
Adirondack Foundation awarded several grants to the project over the years, joining other foundations, businesses, donors, and volunteers to build the park, in the heart of downtown Saranac Lake.
“It is wonderful to live in a community where people come together to make good things happen,” said Peggy Wiltberger of the Skateboard Park committee. “Despite the numerous hurdles, the local support was always clear and the finished product is just fantastic. The skateboard park is busy from dawn to dusk with happy skaters from ages 4 all the way to 50. We couldn’t be happier with the result.”
