A source of joy

Robert and Kathleen Trainor support the organizations and causes they hold dear through their Donor Advised Fund: Mercy Care, the Lake Placid Land Conservancy, the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, and Adirondack Foundation’s Generous Acts Fund.

"There is a comfort level of working with warm, professional individuals who are also our neighbors and friends in this special region," Kathleen says. "We plan to remain in the Adirondacks for years to come and want to give back to the community that has been the source of so much joy for our family over the years.”

The Robert and Kathleen Trainor Family Fund can recommend grants anytime during the year to any qualified charity.

"We are inspired by organizations that we have experienced firsthand and are personally grateful to for the work they do; and by organizations whose mission centers on environmental conservation, education, and the arts," Kathleen says. "Lake Placid has been our family respite from city life for more than 30 years. It is where our family gathers for every holiday, celebration, and vacation. We treasure the beauty and serenity of the lake and mountains. The peace, solitude, and natural beauty of the Adirondacks are a gift that few people are privileged to experience in a lifetime."
