The Henry Uihlein II and Mildred A. Uihlein Foundation donated $112,000 to the Paul White Memorial Bandshell Fundraising Committee on October 1.
The donation will help the committee as it continues to raise funds for a new bandshell in Lake Placid's Mid's Park. Construction is already under way.
Funding for the new bandshell comes from three sources: the fundraising committee, the village of Lake Placid, and the Uihlein Foundation. Bill Billerman, who heads up the fundraising committee, says about $85,000 has been raised so far and about $25,000 still needs to be raised.
Donations are still being accepted. Here are two easy ways to contribute:
- Send a check to the Paul White Memorial Bandshell Fund c/o the Adirondack Community Trust, PO Box 288, Lake Placid, NY 12946
- Give online. Click on the “Add fund/any special instructions” link on the review page and type in “Bandshell Park Fund.”
